 All Star Line-up for Tribute to Ahmet Ertegun Concert in Montreux 6.30.06
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant are scheduled to perform together at the upcoming Montreux Jazz Festival for a tribute to Atlantic Record's founder Ahmet Ertegun on June 30th. Also scheduled on the bill are: Jeff Beck, Solomon Burke, Ben E. King and others.

 John Paul Jones to produce next Uncle Earl album
[Feb. 13] "I'm taking time off shortly to produce a record for Uncle Earl, which is a fabulous old-time string band. They are great musicians and very cool people. We will be cutting a mixture of traditional and original music, and it should be great fun!", says JPJ.

Rock Legends Emerge From Wolfgang's Vault
[Feb. 7] A wealth of vintage performances from some of rock's biggest names will hit the Internet "airwaves" Feb. 8 via Wolfgang's Vault. The rock memorabilia site's Vault Radio will go live with about 75 songs culled from thousands of hours of tapes from the archives of legendary promoter Bill Graham. Included in the initial rotation are 2 tracks from Zeppelin's Fillmore West appearance from "Jan. 10, 1969", though it appears to actually be from Jan. 11, 1969, which has previously appeared on bootleg.

"Led Zeppelin frontman Helps Charity"
[Dec. 21, 2005] Robert Plant has secured 60,000 dollars for a Carefree-based charitable donation that aids nomadic people in drought-stricken West Africa. The singer previously committed proceeds from a four-song C-D released by his current band, Robert Plant and the Strange Sensation. However, the C-D's sales failed to generate the royalties Plant expected so he made other arrangements. Plant made an appeal to P-A-R Charitable Trust, a small grant-making organization that agreed to make up the gap needed to build and operate school dormitories for 200 children for three years. The trust will supplement proceeds from the C-D sales to build eight dorms and provide meals, blankets, school uniforms and medicine for students in four locales in Mali.
 Jimmy Page Receives OBE from Queen Elizabeth For Charity Work
[Dec. 14] Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has been awarded an OBE by the Queen - for his charitable work. The 61-year-old began a campaign to help disadvantaged youngsters from the favelas of Rio de Janeiro more than 10 years ago. Page said he was overwhelmed to be given the accolade for helping street children in Brazil. Page added: "The Queen actually said it was very important work and that it was a horrible problem for the street children."

Led Zep Australia '72 Photo Exhibit
For one night only, 100 never before seen photographs of Led Zeppelin's 1972 concert in Sydney, Australia will be on display in a photo-aid fundraising exhibition. "The official number was 28-thousand, I think that's the number of tickets they sold but there was more like 36-thousand people there. They played the Sydney Showground for three hours solid, there were no other bands on and they just blew everyone away", said photographer Ted Harvey.

 Robert Plant takes centre stage to cut first trench at site of new Scout Centre at Rhydd Covert
[UK] Robert Plant took time out from his world tour to get behind the controls of a mechanical digger to start the building of the new Scout facilities made possible by Operation Covert. The frontman of legendary band, Led Zeppelin, took centre stage and ceremonially dug the first trench of the project at the Rhydd Covert site where construction begins on Monday. The 57-year-old, who is currently in the middle of a global tour promoting his latest album, The Mighty Rearranger, was keen to lend a hand because he believed the project was "very important". [Nov. 7] Led Zeppelin Awarded Prestigious Polar Music Prize
The winners of the Polar Music Prize Award, for 2006 were unveiled today at The Royal Swedish Academy of Music in Stockholm. "The 2006 Polar Music Prize is awarded to the British group Led Zeppelin, one of the great pioneers of rock. Their playful and experimental music combined with highly eclectic elements has two essential themes: mysticism and primal energy. These are features that have come to define the genre 'hard rock'". The prize winners will receive the prize from His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden at a gala ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall to be followed by a celebratory banquet at Grand Hôtel on Monday May 22, 2006. Riffathon 2005: The Hammersmith Palais rocked on Sunday night with ten absolutely awesome performances of an extraordinary level of guitar playing for the Riffathon Live Final, 2005. Jimmy Page and Brian May were judging the show, along with Dan Hawkins from Darkness. They were all blown away by the high standard, and the decision to find a winner was proven extremely difficult. Martin Tomkins from Kettering stole the show and first prize with his awe inspiring performance of Led Zeppelin's ‘Rock & Roll'. He couldn't get the grin off his face all night – especially after being presented by his idols a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top which he called a “dream guitar”, by Jimmy Page who introduced the winner as "this guy without doubt played it (Rock n' Roll) better than I have done". Austin, TX, Mar. 17 (UPI) -- Grammy Awards organizers decided it was better late than never for former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant. Plant received his Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Thursday prior to his keynote interview at the annual South By Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas.

Jimmy Page / Eric Clapton / Jeff Beck / Brian May meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace today, asking them "and what do you do?". May, from the rock band Queen , reminded the queen that he had played the National Anthem on the palace roof to start a concert marking her 2002 Golden Jubilee. "Oh! That was you was it?" Elizabeth II exclaimed.
Moving on to Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, the queen inquired: "Are you a guitarist too?" Guitar god Eric Clapton took no chances and, firmly shaking her hand, introduced himself by name. "Have you been playing a long time?" the queen asked. "It must be 45 years now," replied Clapton, 59.
